This course contains a comprehensive learning journey designed to take you from a beginner to an advanced user of SketchUp. It starts with SketchUp Basics & Beyond, where you’ll learn the fundamentals of the interface, essential tools, navigation, and how to create basic 3D models. Next, Intermediate SketchUp Skills will guide you through working with groups and components, precise measurements, layering techniques, and importing/exporting models. Finally, the Advanced 3D Modeling section focuses on high-level techniques such as creating complex geometry, using plugins and extensions, applying photorealistic rendering, and building detailed architectural or product models. Whether you're starting fresh or refining your skills, this course equips you with everything needed to design confidently in SketchUp.
Materials & Detailing in SketchUp
Applying materials and textures in SketchUp is a key step in transforming plain geometry into realistic and visually engaging models. Using the Materials panel, you can choose from a wide library of preloaded textures or import custom images to create unique surface finishes. Materials can be applied to individual faces or entire objects, and easily adjusted for color, scale, and transparency. This allows you to replicate real-world surfaces like wood, concrete, metal, or fabric. By mastering the application and manipulation of textures, your models not only look more professional but also communicate design intent more effectively.
Lumion Essentials: Introduction to Lighting & Scene Effects
Lumion Essentials begins with an Introduction to Lumion, where you'll learn the fundamentals of the interface, importing 3D models, and setting up your first scene. Once you're comfortable navigating the software, you'll move on to Lighting & Scene Effects, where you’ll discover how to enhance realism and mood in your visualizations. This includes working with natural and artificial lighting, adjusting sun positioning, adding shadows, and applying effects like depth of field, fog, lens flare, and global illumination. Mastering these tools allows you to create cinematic, professional-quality renders that bring your designs to life.
Rendering & Final Presentation
In this final stage of your Lumion journey, you'll focus on Photo-Realistic Rendering & Animation to showcase your designs at a professional level. Learn how to fine-tune materials, lighting, and camera angles to create stunning still renders and smooth walkthrough animations. You'll explore key rendering settings, output formats, and animation effects that add life and realism to your projects. The module concludes with a Final Project & Presentation, where you'll apply all the skills learned throughout the course. You’ll create a complete visual presentation—combining still images, animated sequences, and real-time environments—ready to be shared with clients, stakeholders, or your portfolio.
Eligibility & Duration:
This course is ideal for students from 10th or 12th grade, as well as those pursuing or having completed B.E., Diploma, or ITI. It also welcomes interior designers, architectural students, and design enthusiasts. The program spans 2 months with practical training to ensure hands-on learning.
